From the mists of North London emerges the Mediterranean rhythm of Ballalouda, an eclectic 8-piece with an explosive concoction of funk, Latin and turbo-charged Anglo-gypsy melodies.

A chance encounter with El Senor Ballalouda (literally, "the man who fishes in the sunshine") gave the band their name and also their mission: to deliver uplifting, hip-shaking sounds direct to the hearts and minds of misfits everywhere.

Unpredictable and irresistible, Ballalouda have performed everywhere from London's Jazz Cafe and Cargo, the Fleche d'Or in Paris to the Venice carnival and even the occasional fishing village. In 2007, the band holed up in their very own Red House studios in North London, emerging with an album guaranteed to get into your gills.

The live shows embody the essence of Ballalouda: with members hailing from Italy, Australia and London, their diverse influences show through in their dynamic and interactive performances, which have to be seen to be believed.
